Valissa Willwerth
For nearly a decade, Valissa has immersed herself in the study and practice of equine bodywork. She is certified in The Masterson Method®, trained at the Vluggen Institute for Equine Osteopathy and is currently enrolled in the London College of Animal Osteopathy's canine osteopathy program. Her studies in craniosacral therapy began with the Upledger Institute and expanded through further study of cranial biodynamics and hands-on application.
Valissa has completed advanced coursework in equine anatomy and biomechanics, and has studied with bodywork instructors and osteopaths from the United States, Canada, Germany, and the Netherlands. She serves as a coach for the Masterson Method Certification students and was a contributing instructor in the Beyond Dog Massage online course series.

In addition to her equine and canine bodywork credentials Valissa holds a Doctorate in Violin Performance and has spent over 30 years as a professional violinist and teacher, performing over 2000 concerts as a substitute with The Philadelphia Orchestra, as well as performances with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. Her artistic path deeply informs her bodywork —bringing nuance, deep listening, and exquisite precision to every session.

Valissa is also a writer and founder of multiple creative platforms, including:

-
ViolinWise — an integrative violin teaching studio that bridges technical mastery with somatic presence
-
Written While Upright — her in-progress Substack collection of voice-to-page prose, humor, and poetic transmission
-
Stone Owl Council — a parallel brand in development for soulful wit, artisan products, and spiritually sideways inspiration

Her background spans contrasting fields — osteopathy classical music, storytelling — but the throughline is unmistakable:

Integrity. Integration. Depth. Detail. Devotion.
